Why??? The starting of the blog.

When I was first handed this assignment of writing a blog dealing with courtship IO had no idea what I was going to do. I really did not understand what was expected of this blog, or what we even were going to have to write about. I knew that this concept of courtship is VERY present in the world around me, but I could not think of any specific things or how to compare it to what courtship used to be seen as. Then when we were handed the actual assignment on a sheet, after reading through it and seeing the nine topic ideas listed I started to understand what I could write about. Out of those nine topics listed the one topic that really caught my attention was the idea Courtship and Television.

Now looking at Courtship and Television there are many different things that could be used or different ways that this topic could be taken (dealing with the writing of the blog). So I sat down and started to think of why this was the ONE topic that I really wanted to write about.

Reasons:
There can be many different views, from the show to how the viewer sees the situation.
What period of time was the show made in, is it a newer show or older.
What different shows do I watch and how do they effect me?
How does the show effect a viewer and there view on Courtship?

So after I decided that this was going to be my topic, I had to start working on a title. The thing about the kind of title that I wanted was that I did not want it to be a “Blah” title. It should be something that makes the reader think a little and maybe even laugh a little. Also I wanted to have a title that related to the topic, so that the reader knew what they were going to be reading about. Thinking about it, I knew that I wanted the words “Courtship” and some version of “Television” in the title. The word television, I thought was over used, so I went and looked up some synonyms for the word television.

The words that I got were:
T.V.
Box
Tube
Small Screen

Out of that list, the only word that I felt had a good feel to it and was not over used was tube. So with so word play, not really, I came up with the title.

So after I had picked the topic and know had a working title, I stoped to think a about what I was really going to get out of this blog. I know that it is an assignment, but I want something more. So I came up with some ideas of what I am hoping to get out of this blog:
An idea of different views of love
How my different experience of “courtship” effects how I see “courtship” in the shows
How my view effect my ability to watch all the different points in the show
Looking deeper into the shows I watch
